Program Details
The Interior Design Assistant Certificate provides the student with broad knowledge of the interior design profession and careers therein. Entry level skills will be acquired to serve as an assistant to a commercial or residential interior designer, or merchandising in a retail setting. This certificate lays the foundation for acquiring the Associate of Science Interior Design Degree or the Commercial Interior Design Certificate and/or Residential Design Certificate. This certificate requires the completion of 28 units. A minimum grade of C is required for each course.

- Communicate design solutions verbally and graphically for the purpose of executing a project.
- Develop the skills necessary to sit for the IDEX (Interior Design Examination) administered by the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC) leading to the professional designation of Certified Interior Designer (CID) in the State of California.
- Formulate comprehensive design solutions for advanced residential and commercial interior design projects.
- Produce a portfolio illustrating complex, detailed projects that demonstrate career-readiness in commercial design
